  • Lead a product area across releases while maintaining a component, prototype, or tool used by fellow designers
  • Create functional prototypes with real components and data to evaluate concepts and align product and engineering
  • Choose research approaches that inform decisions, synthesize findings, and recommend next steps
  • Set success measures before development and track results, adjusting direction when evidence warrants it
  • Establish standards for error and empty states, responsive behavior, WCAG 2.0 AA compliance, and consistent patterns
  • Advocate for recommendations in areas of disagreement and guide senior stakeholders toward decisions
  • Strengthen design quality through reviews, mentorship, and direct design execution

  • Has led a product area through multiple releases and can demonstrate product judgment through a portfolio
  • Brings broad UX and visual design capability, with exceptional depth in at least one area
  • Uses AI to build and deliver tools or experiences that others depend on
  • Can prototype in code and with AI-assisted tools
  • Understands how components and data influence design decisions
  • Recognizes the implementation cost and complexity of design choices
  • Has worked with dense data, permissions, regulated settings, and information-heavy interfaces
  • Can challenge ideas constructively and revise their perspective when evidence supports it
  • Experience in fintech, wealth management, or another regulated industry is a bonus
  • Experience bringing products from zero to one is a bonus
  • Experience creating a design system or a substantial part of one is a bonus
  • Front-end development or design engineering experience is a bonus
