Senior Geothermal Drilling Engineer - Texas Remote

Lead drilling engineering projects for RESPEC across geothermal, mineral extraction, energy, and sustainability work. Develop well designs and drilling programs while managing execution, cost, safety, compliance, and client coordination.

Tavsif

  • Lead engineering projects from proposal development through completion
  • Manage project delivery against approved schedules and budgets
  • Prepare and administer Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) documentation
  • Estimate drilling costs and schedules and coordinate service providers
  • Deliver drilling engineering consulting for exploratory, solution-mining, geothermal, and disposal wells
  • Create detailed well designs and drilling plans
  • Develop drilling programs covering casing, tubulars, mud systems, cementing, and testing
  • Supervise field and drilling operations
  • Track safety requirements and regulatory compliance
  • Coordinate well designs and drilling programs with RESPEC engineers and client teams
  • Contribute to energy and mineral extraction projects

Talablar

  • Bachelor of Science in petroleum, geological, or mining engineering
  • At least 15 years of drilling engineering experience, including casing design, drilling fluids, testing, and well design
  • Advanced expertise in well design and drilling program development and execution
  • Experience preparing AFEs, tracking costs, maintaining financial accountability, and procuring services
  • Established client relationships and the ability to contribute to business development
  • At least 5 years of preferred experience designing geothermal drilling programs, including casing design, drilling fluids, testing, and geothermal well design
  • Working knowledge of well delivery processes
  • Experience conducting and managing risk assessments
  • Completions engineering and design experience is an asset
  • Experience generating schedules, tracking costs and timelines, managing subcontractors, and working directly with clients
  • Professional license or the ability to obtain one
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • EGS drilling experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, project management, and technical communication abilities
  • Fluency in English
  • Ability to apply engineering principles to practical field applications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or comparable software
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, use sound judgment, and work independently
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Comfort with extended periods of sitting at a workstation or desk
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, climb, kneel, lift, and perform repetitive hand movements on site
  • Ability to use task-appropriate personal protective equipment
  • Willingness to travel 10% of the time
