Regulatory Policy Specialist at Xcel Energy (Denver Hybrid)
Develop regulatory filings, testimony, and policy strategies for Xcel Energy’s electricity and natural gas operations. Coordinate compliance and represent company positions before regulators and legislators.
Tavsif
- Partner with senior leaders to shape regulatory filings and strategies that advance company goals.
- Work with subject matter experts to develop filings and regulatory strategies.
- Coordinate with case management teams to keep filings aligned with strategy.
- Prepare testimony for regulatory proceedings, rulemaking, and legislative hearings.
- Manage regulatory compliance activities in assigned jurisdictions.
- Draft, assemble, edit, and organize complex regulatory filings.
- Explain complex issues clearly in writing and craft effective messages.
- Represent company positions with regulators and other stakeholders.
- Manage multiple projects and maintain document controls.
- Keep senior leaders and internal partners informed about filings and regulatory issues.
- Develop and advance regulatory and legislative policy positions.
- Draft and assess responses to discovery requests.
- Create key messages and presentations for agencies, legislative committees, and internal audiences.
- Help witnesses prepare pre-filed testimony.
- Work to tight deadlines and collaborate across business areas and teams.
Talablar
- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree.
- Five to seven years of regulatory experience, or equivalent experience.
- Direct experience handling regulatory filings.
- Able to travel overnight occasionally and work substantial overtime.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
