Engineer II, Forgings – Phoenix, Arizona (Hybrid)

Engineer II specializing in forged aerospace engine products, materials, and manufacturing processes for Honeywell Aerospace. Partner with suppliers and engineering teams to resolve forging challenges and improve product designs.

Tavsif

  • Lead materials and process engineering support for forged products
  • Support new and existing forgings for aerospace gas turbine propulsion and auxiliary power engines
  • Guide material and process decisions for forged-part design and manufacturing
  • Partner with Honeywell Aerospace engineering teams to develop technical solutions
  • Contribute throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Act as a technical resource for less experienced engineers
  • Work directly with forging and raw-material suppliers to address technical issues
  • Evaluate supplier capabilities, strengths, and limitations
  • Perform supplier forging audits
  • Help qualify and develop forging suppliers
  • Investigate forging problems and deliver timely technical solutions
  • Coordinate between forging suppliers and Honeywell Engineering, Quality, Supplier Development Engineering, and Integrated Supply Chain
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering to improve the forgability of new and existing designs
  • Report to the Senior Engineering Manager

Talablar

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or another technical discipline
  • At least two years of materials or process engineering experience in the forging industry
  • At least two years of experience with aluminum, steel, titanium, and nickel aerospace wrought alloys
  • U.S. Person status as a citizen, permanent resident, person with protected asylum or refugee status, or individual able to obtain export authorization
  • Current authorization to work full-time in the United States
  • Practical understanding and hands-on experience with forging
  • Knowledge of industrial material and processing specifications
  • Familiarity with Nadcap requirements, industry standards, and approvals
  • Experience evaluating prospective suppliers
  • Experience performing forging audits
  • Experience working with and developing forging suppliers
  • Experience diagnosing forging problems and implementing technical solutions
  • Experience partnering with Design Engineering to improve design forgability
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and requirements
  • Experience using Six Sigma, Lean, or other process improvement methods
  • Experience with forging simulation software such as DEFORM
  • Ability to occasionally lift 35 pounds in one lift
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally approximately 20% of the time
