Opis

  • Independently investigate and manage complex civil litigation cases with moderate to high exposure, from filing through dismissal, settlement, or trial.
  • Meet with clients and claims professionals to pursue cost-effective case resolutions.
  • Handle pretrial proceedings, mediations, arbitrations, and other required legal work.
  • Conduct trials independently when needed.
  • Guide claims professionals in evaluating legal files.
  • Provide legal counsel to clients and claims professionals.
  • Negotiate settlements as instructed.
  • Join roundtable discussions on case progress and trial readiness.
  • Work with claims professionals and insured clients to provide strategic, cost-conscious outcomes and legal representation.
  • Mentor and teach colleagues.

Zahteve

  • At least five years of litigation experience.
  • Insurance defense litigation experience is required.
  • Admission to the Tennessee Bar and an active license in assigned jurisdictions in good standing are required.
  • Georgia Bar admission is preferred but not required.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Computer proficiency, including MS Word, Lexis or Westlaw, and daily email and calendar management.
  • Knowledge of advocacy in moderately complex and complex cases.
  • Effective negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain legal language in plain terms.
  • Strong decision-making, organizational, investigative, and legal research skills.
  • Knowledge of courtroom practice and appropriate courtroom conduct, attire, and decorum.
  • Knowledge of rules and regulations governing courts, tribunals, and legal proceedings.
  • Willingness to handle employment and professional liability matters.
  • Trial skills, including presenting evidence and legal arguments to judges or juries.
  • Knowledge of property and casualty insurance principles.
  • Ability to adapt to unexpected challenges.
  • Willingness and ability to mentor and teach others.
  • Ability to work with attorneys, adjusters, claims professionals, and support staff in a team environment.
