Senior Counsel, California Insurance Defense Litigation
Tyson & Mendes seeks a Senior Counsel to defend insurers in complex civil litigation in California. The role covers trials, depositions, discovery, client relationships, and attorney leadership.
Opis
- Build case themes that counter plaintiff appeals to sympathy or anger
- Handle court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials independently
- Oversee cases from discovery through trial preparation
- Collaborate with colleagues across experience levels
- Maintain regular communication with clients
- Build relationships with current and prospective clients
- Guide and mentor less experienced attorneys
- Lead high-exposure cases with independence and strategic judgment
Zahteve
- Hold a JD from an ABA-approved law school
- Be licensed to practice in California
- Have at least 8 years of substantial litigation experience, including litigation support, depositions, and trial preparation
- Be able to manage all aspects of case handling, including discovery and trial work
- Insurance defense experience is preferred
- Have experience using time management systems
- Be proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Demonstrate strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
