Opis

  • Act as the Agile Scrum team’s primary data authority.
  • Create and document logical and physical data models.
  • Advise development teams on schemas, indexes, and data relationships across NoSQL and relational databases.
  • Configure, upgrade, and maintain MongoDB environments.
  • Build and operate highly available systems using MongoDB replica sets, sharded clusters, and distributed architectures.
  • Administer and maintain relational databases such as PostgreSQL and Oracle.
  • Tune databases and queries on an ongoing basis.
  • Review execution plans and indexes, and optimize MongoDB aggregation pipelines and SQL queries.
  • Apply and maintain database safeguards, including authentication, role-based access control, auditing, and encryption in transit and at rest.
  • Maintain compliance with DHS security requirements.
  • Design, test, and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Automate deployments, configuration, patching, and routine upkeep with Python, Bash, and infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Take part in Agile Scrum ceremonies.
  • Work with developers, cloud engineers, and government stakeholders to deliver software in short, frequent sprints.

Zahteve

  • U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a federal background investigation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
  • Five to seven years of database administration or engineering experience.
  • At least three years of hands-on MongoDB design and administration experience.
  • Strong understanding of MongoDB architecture, including replica sets, sharded clusters, storage engines, locking, and transaction handling.
  • Experience designing scalable data models for document and relational databases, including schema versioning and optimization patterns.
  • Experience with SQL development, database administration, query tuning, and performance troubleshooting across NoSQL and relational systems.
  • Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for scripting and automation.
  • Knowledge of database security, including TLS/SSL, Kerberos/LDAP, auditing, and hardening.
  • Experience administering Linux systems, including RHEL or CentOS, and monitoring storage and performance.
  • Preferred: Experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server alongside MongoDB.
  • Preferred: Experience applying database STIGs and security hardening guidance in federal or other regulated settings.
  • Preferred: Experience automating database deployment, monitoring, or maintenance.
  • Able to work onsite 1–2 days per week as part of a hybrid schedule.
