Senior Site Reliability Engineer, Data Infrastructure

Descriere

  • Run reliability and operations for large distributed systems and data platforms.
  • Improve production operations for streaming services and Kubernetes workloads.
  • Manage infrastructure changes through repeatable, version-controlled processes.
  • Increase the scalability and operational efficiency of infrastructure used by engineering teams.
  • Build streaming and data infrastructure for CRE, CCIP, Data Feeds, and Data Streams.
  • Turn product needs into dependable Redpanda or Kafka and Flink capabilities.
  • Maintain 99.9% availability for critical data infrastructure as usage increases.
  • Scale streaming and Kubernetes workloads while addressing throughput and recovery constraints.
  • Set service-level indicators that reflect the experience of consuming services.
  • Cut recurring incidents, manual work, and routine maintenance with automation, useful alerts, tested recovery procedures, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Link Redpanda topic traffic, Flink processing, and BigQuery usage to the teams and services that consume them.
  • Create reusable infrastructure modules, deployment processes, and documentation.
  • Help engineering teams independently provision, test, scale, and retire AWS and Kubernetes resources.
  • Make infrastructure consumers, service adoption, reliability, costs, and maintenance effort visible.
  • Work hours that overlap in part with Eastern Standard Time (EST).

Cerințe

  • Proven experience running large-scale distributed systems and scalable data processing infrastructure in production.
  • Experience managing availability, consistency, failure modes, and performance trade-offs.
  • Production experience operating Kafka or compatible streaming platforms such as Redpanda.
  • Practical experience with capacity planning, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience provisioning and managing production infrastructure with Terraform.
  • Experience making infrastructure changes through reviewed, version-controlled, repeatable processes.
  • Experience deploying, operating, and troubleshooting production Kubernetes workloads.
  • Experience with resource management, scaling, and safe rollouts.
  • Preferred: experience building reusable infrastructure modules, self-service capabilities, and CI/CD workflows.
  • Preferred: production experience with Apache Flink pipelines, including monitoring, diagnosing failures, and recovery.
  • Preferred: experience with AWS Aurora or RDS, including provisioning, backup and recovery, failover, rightsizing, and cost optimization.
  • Preferred: advanced experience with Apache Flink, Redpanda or Kafka, Iceberg, PostgreSQL, Airflow, or Trino.
  • Preferred: production-quality Java or Go skills.
  • Preferred: contributions to open-source infrastructure or data projects.
