Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Routing Costs — Mapbox (Hybrid, Finland)
Lead machine learning pipelines and recommendation systems for Mapbox’s navigation platform, improving routing costs and traffic models. Apply geospatial algorithms to movement data and help advance the systems behind navigation.
Descriere
- Lead engineering teams delivering end-to-end features across the navigation organization
- Design and build machine learning and data pipelines
- Improve existing machine learning and data pipelines
- Develop tools for automated quality checks and data exploration
- Apply geospatial algorithms to make pipelines more effective
- Create automated tuning and outlier detection algorithms
- Work with data scientists to improve models of movement and traffic patterns
- Mentor colleagues
- Take part in code and design reviews
- Join an on-call rotation supporting 24/7 system availability, with possible immediate responses outside normal working hours and on weekends
Cerințe
- Bring 8–10 or more years of backend and machine learning experience
- Have extensive experience with Python
- Have experience with distributed processing pipelines, including Hadoop, Spark, Airflow, and Dask
- Have experience with very large datasets, including statistical analysis, data quality control, and storage optimization
- Have extensive experience with cloud and infrastructure services, including deploying and managing infrastructure in cloud environments
- Care about clean code and robust architecture
- Have experience mentoring and leading engineering teams
- Communicate effectively in writing and verbally
- Collaborate across functions, including security, DevOps, data, compliance, and product
- Be in the current Mapbox role for at least 12 months, or obtain approval from the organization leader and HR business partner
- Have demonstrated strong performance and be in good standing
- Employees currently on a Performance Improvement Plan are not eligible
