Senior Infrastructure Engineer – Virtualization (Latin America Remote)

Senior Infrastructure Engineer responsible for VMware Cloud Foundation, NSX, and vSphere operations for ITTConnect’s managed-services client. Lead virtualization incidents, automation, upgrades, migrations, and platform health across Latin America remotely.

Descriere

  • Manage NSX components, including segments, distributed firewall policies, gateways, load balancing, and east-west or north-south traffic troubleshooting
  • Oversee ESXi, vCenter, and vSAN lifecycle management, including patching, firmware coordination, certificate administration, and capacity planning
  • Investigate and resolve root causes of compute, storage, and virtual networking performance or availability issues
  • Lead technical response to platform incidents while coordinating with clients, internal teams, Broadcom, and hardware vendors
  • Administer KVM-based or Hyper-V environments and support workload migrations across hypervisors
  • Automate recurring infrastructure operations with scripting, vSphere APIs, and NSX APIs
  • Prepare root cause analyses, follow formal change-management processes, and document baselines, designs, and tuning decisions
  • Direct the technical delivery of virtualization upgrades, consolidations, and migrations
  • Deliver client status updates, capacity recommendations, and virtualization best-practice guidance
  • Mentor junior engineers and work closely with storage, networking, and service desk teams
  • Own the operation and health of client virtualization platforms within Managed Services, with monitoring and triage support from a global network operations center

Cerințe

  • Bring at least 12 years of infrastructure engineering experience
  • Have a minimum of four years administering enterprise VMware environments
  • Communicate fluently in English
  • Administer VMware Cloud Foundation 9 or vSphere Foundation 9 with NSX, or demonstrate deep vSphere 8 administration experience and the ability to pursue VCF 9 certification during the first year
  • Understand NSX operations, including overlay segments, distributed firewalls, Tier-0 and Tier-1 gateways, and traffic troubleshooting
  • Administer Windows and Linux servers, including guest operating systems, drivers, and tools lifecycles
  • Understand storage and networking layers, including shared-storage protocols, VLANs, MTU, routing, and multipathing
  • Automate with AI tooling, PowerCLI, Python, equivalent scripting, and platform APIs
  • Produce formal root cause analyses and operate within structured change-management processes
  • Communicate clearly with clients and work independently across multiple client environments
  • Bring prior managed-service-provider or multi-client experience, preferred
  • Hold an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field, or offer equivalent hands-on experience
  • Possess VMware certifications such as VCP-VCF Administrator, VCP-DCV, VCP-NV, or a comparable virtualization credential, preferred
  • Have hands-on experience with KVM-based platforms or Microsoft Hyper-V with Failover Clustering, preferred
  • Have experience with VMware Aria Operations or similar capacity and performance tools, plus hyper-converged hardware such as Dell VxRail or PowerFlex, preferred
