Senior Airworthiness Certification Engineer, Software
Boeing is seeking a senior engineer to lead software airworthiness certification for military aircraft programs. The role coordinates regulators, certification teams, and compliance strategies across multiple U.S. locations.
Descriere
- Oversee airworthiness activities for an active domestic or international military program
- Assist with audits conducted by foreign airworthiness authorities
- Track program costs and schedules while helping program owners address certification matters
- Create software certification strategies aligned with EMAR 21, DO-178, MIL-HDBK-516C Section 15, and applicable regulations
- Coach DO-178 certification verification engineers and professionals in related disciplines
- Contribute to industry standards development and comparative benchmarking
- Direct regulator engagement for complex programs and strategic initiatives
- Coordinate with regulatory authorities to complete airworthiness validation
- Advise the delegated approval organization on technical support, training, tools, and resources
- Review and advise on compliance reports and certification documentation
- Lead regulatory advocacy approaches, training, tools, and working methods
- Deliver advanced enterprise-wide technical guidance on aerospace regulatory compliance programs and projects
- Report program status and performance metrics to executive leadership on a regular basis
- Travel up to 25% to support multiple programs
Cerințe
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology including manufacturing technology, computer science, data science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or a directly relevant non-U.S. equivalent qualification
- Level 4 requires six years of experience with software development processes such as SDLC, Agile, SCRUM, Waterfall, and continuous integration in a program management setting
- Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. security clearance; U.S. government requirements include U.S. citizenship
- U.S. Person status is required for export control compliance
- Level 5 requires at least 10 years of experience with software development processes such as SDLC, Agile, SCRUM, Waterfall, and continuous integration in a program management setting
- Experience establishing processes and standards that comply with aircraft software certification and/or FAA certification requirements
- Experience with software certification standards and practices, including DO-178C or an equivalent standard
- Background supporting internal software certification work
- Experience with aircraft certification under FAA, MIL-HDBK-516, or EMAR frameworks
- The employer does not sponsor employment visas
- Must be able to obtain an interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance after starting
