Senior AI Tech Lead — Portugal (Remote)
Lead architecture and delivery for production-ready AI solutions serving enterprise clients at Board of Innovation. Guide engineers, align with client stakeholders, and take LLM-powered systems from initial scope through deployment.
Descriere
- Own end-to-end technical delivery for complex enterprise AI projects
- Define scope, solution direction, staffing, schedules, proposals, and estimates
- Set architecture, record technical decisions, review implementation, and manage delivery risks and trade-offs
- Develop prototypes, complex integrations, and critical fixes as project needs arise
- Ship production systems such as agentic applications, LLM services, and their supporting platforms
- Act as the client’s technical partner and make architectural decisions accessible to non-technical stakeholders
- Coordinate enterprise approvals, platform dependencies, security assessments, and organizational limitations
- Contribute to internal tools and reusable templates between client engagements
- Coach engineers working on project teams
- Report to the Engineering Director
- Lead one flagship engagement on a near-full-time basis or manage two to three smaller projects concurrently, depending on the portfolio
Cerințe
- At least five years of engineering experience
- Two or more years leading technical builds and the engineers delivering them
- Track record of taking systems from design through production in an external organizational environment
- Practical AI engineering experience with agents, tool use, retrieval, MCP, evaluations, and orchestration
- Experience deploying LLM-based systems to production
- Understanding of reliability, cost, and evaluation concerns in LLM applications
- Strong Python skills with CI/CD, testing, disciplined code reviews, and infrastructure-as-code
- Comfort using AI-assisted development tools, including Claude Code, Codex, and MCP-based workflows
- Hands-on production cloud experience; Azure is preferred
- Experience deploying software in restricted enterprise environments is advantageous
- Ability to present architecture to VP-level stakeholders and lead client-facing technical conversations
- Residence in Lisbon or elsewhere in Portugal
