Principal Full-Stack Engineer - Ticketing and Travel Commerce - Remote Texas

Descriere

  • Own the technology platform supporting OleOle Sport.
  • Architect and build the standalone consumer website and commerce platform.
  • Connect ticketing and travel inventory from multiple providers.
  • Guide the technology lifecycle from architecture through production.
  • Make key technical decisions while delivering substantial portions of the platform hands-on.
  • Design systems for inventory, availability, pricing, reservations and orders, checkout, payments, fulfillment, cancellations, refunds, and reconciliation.
  • Create abstraction layers that reduce reliance on any single provider.
  • Partner with the CTO, payments architecture leadership, product, design, and other platform teams.
  • Recruit, mentor, and ultimately lead a small, high-performing engineering team.
  • Retain clear ownership of OleOle Sport while collaborating across the organization.

Cerințe

  • At least 10 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Substantial experience at Staff, Principal, Lead, Architect, or equivalent level.
  • A track record of architecting and building high-scale consumer transactional platforms.
  • Direct experience in travel, ticketing, hospitality, reservations, booking platforms, marketplaces, or complex e-commerce is strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience designing inventory, availability, pricing, reservations and orders, checkout, payments, fulfillment, cancellations, refunds, and reconciliation systems.
  • Experience integrating external suppliers, vendors, APIs, payment providers, or inventory sources.
  • Strong knowledge of transactional reliability, including idempotency, retries, concurrency, inventory holds, partial failures, asynchronous workflows, reconciliation, and recovery.
  • Deep full-stack experience with modern consumer web technologies.
  • Experience with React, Next.js, TypeScript, Java, Go, Rust, Python, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, AWS, Kubernetes, or comparable technologies is valuable.
  • Experience designing highly available systems for significant traffic spikes and high-value transactions.
  • Strong understanding of security, authentication, payment security, observability, testing, CI/CD, and production operations.
  • Experience building international and multilingual consumer products is highly desirable.
  • Experience architecting large-scale SEO or programmatic SEO platforms is a major advantage.
  • Production experience with AI/LLM systems, agents, tool or function calling, recommendation systems, or AI-assisted content and data platforms is valuable.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with the CTO, payments architecture leadership, product, design, and other platform teams.
  • Willingness and ability to remain deeply hands-on.
  • Experience recruiting, mentoring, and eventually leading a small, high-performing engineering team.
  • Strong product judgment and the ability to translate early-stage business needs into production architecture.
  • Ability to operate through ambiguity, changing priorities, and early-stage company growth.
  • Understanding of football and international sports is a significant plus.
