Engineer III, REST APIs and UI
Build and maintain secure REST APIs, user interface components, and enterprise applications at Elevance Health. The role spans system design, testing, stakeholder requirements, and on-call support.
Descriere
- Build and maintain complex technology systems from development through ongoing support
- Design and improve REST APIs and UI components for enterprise applications
- Specify request and response formats and application interface contracts
- Develop solutions on medium to large customer platforms and architectures
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to shape business requirements
- Assess complex change requests and document code enhancements
- Partner with engineers and graphic designers
- Set application scope and objectives and write functional or technical specifications
- Assess detailed business and technical requirements
- Shape requirements around stakeholder needs
- Identify issues and risks
- Code and maintain complex information system components
- Mentor colleagues on coding standards and review their code
- Review test cases and advise QA on regression impacts
- Run system tests, resolve defects, and repeat unit tests
- Coordinate with other IT departments on implementation and project support
- Provide on-call coverage, monitor systems, and identify deficiencies
Cerințe
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least three years of experience with one platform, multiple databases, multiple languages, or a multi-business application
- Experience with AI tools such as Claude and Copilot is preferred
- Experience with API documentation standards such as OpenAPI or Swagger and API governance practices is preferred
- Familiarity with secure coding practices, including OWASP
- Familiarity with authentication and authorization patterns
- Familiarity with performance tuning for APIs and user interfaces
- Must live within a reasonable commuting distance of a posting location unless granted an accommodation
