Manage complex Federal Workers Compensation and Defense Base Act claims for AIG in an onsite Atlanta role. Evaluate settlements, investigate potential fraud, and provide technical guidance to claims representatives.
Descriere
- Investigate and manage Defense Base Act claims within the Federal Workers Compensation jurisdiction
- Follow proactive claims practices that meet AIG quality standards
- Apply investigation, claims handling, litigation, and negotiation expertise to reach timely, cost-effective settlements and protect recovery rights
- Deliver responsive and effective customer service
- Maintain regular communication with internal stakeholders, brokers, medical experts, clients’ attorneys, injured workers, and legal representatives
- Develop strong internal and external customer relationships while serving as a referral resource
- Assess and review potentially suspicious or fraudulent claims according to company guidelines
- Make independent decisions within reserve and settlement authority of up to $500,000
- Mentor Claim Representatives and provide technical claims guidance
- Partner with underwriting colleagues to support product improvements
Cerințe
- Understanding of the legal, regulatory, litigation, and procedural requirements governing Federal Workers Compensation claims
- Specialized knowledge of Defense Base Act claims is preferred
- Demonstrated experience evaluating and negotiating settlements
- Ability to interpret policy language accurately and consistently
- Strong lateral thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to develop ideas that improve working practices
- Effective communication, time management, administration, and report-writing skills
