BMS Controls Engineering Manager

Lead building management, power monitoring, and SCADA controls across Edged data centers. Support reliable HVAC, electrical, and cooling operations at mission-critical facilities.

Descriere

  • Lead BMS contractors and controls integrators throughout project phases.
  • Set the vision and goals for the BMS controls program across all sites.
  • Ensure controls meet product goals for consistency, standardization, reliability, and functionality.
  • Develop a playbook for program setup, PLC configuration, and BMS, PMS, EPMS, and HVAC controls operations.
  • Program, configure, and commission site controls, including Tridium Niagara, Distech hardware, power quality metering, and communications protocols.
  • Inspect BMS wiring, installations, and commissioning, and verify project progress.
  • Support project teams and construction managers from early MEP construction; assess project health and schedules.
  • Assist with incident response for BMS and controls failures.
  • Maintain logic-based schedules for construction, commissioning, and packaged equipment BMS work.
  • Coordinate factory controls audits and BMS commissioning, and oversee correction of deficiencies.
  • Operate and configure controls, and implement controls strategies and architecture for large distributed data centers.
  • Ensure EPMS and SCADA systems function as designed, protect data centers, track power use, calculate capacity, and deliver alarms, notifications, and reports.
  • Configure EPMS applications for new deployments, data needs, and retrofits.
  • Create and maintain EPMS and BMS support documents, test plans, Emergency Operating Procedures, and change records.
  • Implement corporate operating policies, Methods of Procedure documentation, and site operations practices.
  • Work with the CMMS Manager to develop preventive maintenance activities and controls for BMS hardware and systems.
  • Coordinate field work, contractor schedules, and supervision.
  • Manage alarms for maintenance procedures.
  • Work with colleagues, maintenance staff, project and building managers, engineers, and onsite contractors.
  • Join the on-call rotation and provide emergency support outside regular hours.
  • Lead maintenance work and controls changes to improve equipment efficiency.

Cerințe

  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, engineering technology, or a related engineering field, or equivalent professional experience; degree preferred.
  • Experience with industrial automation and building management controls, including PLC and DDC systems.
  • At least 7 years of combined experience in instrumentation and controls programming or installation, general contractor MEP coordination or project management, or commissioning data centers or other large mission-critical buildings.
  • At least 3 years of experience programming or designing HVAC controls and electrical power monitoring.
  • Expertise in common controls protocols, including Modbus and BACnet.
  • Working knowledge of BMS, EPMS, and SCADA systems.
  • Familiarity with central chiller plants, CRAH units, and facility operations.
  • Familiarity with data center or similar critical-environment power distribution systems.
  • Availability to work flexible hours.
  • Ability to travel to other Edged data center facilities as required.
  • Ability to take part in on-call duty and provide emergency support outside regular hours.
