Represent injured workers in California workers’ compensation matters as an associate attorney. Manage claims, hearings, discovery, negotiations, and settlements from intake through resolution.
Descriere
- Manage workers’ compensation claims from intake through resolution
- Represent injured workers at WCAB hearings, depositions, and mandatory settlement conferences
- Conduct client intake and provide consistent, compassionate case communication
- Prepare pleadings, motions, trial briefs, and legal correspondence
- Lead discovery, including depositions of parties and medical and legal experts
- Negotiate settlements and draft compromise and release agreements or stipulations with requests for awards
- Coordinate with paralegals and legal assistants to advance cases efficiently
- Monitor developments in California workers’ compensation law and related regulations
Cerințe
- Hold a J.D. from an accredited law school
- Maintain active membership in the California State Bar
- Bring 1–3 years of experience handling workers’ compensation matters
- Applicant-side workers’ compensation experience is strongly preferred
- Demonstrate strong advocacy, negotiation, and legal writing abilities
- Project confidence and professionalism in courtroom, client, and defense interactions
- Manage deadlines effectively and stay organized in a fast-paced setting
