Mid-Senior Software Engineer, TypeScript/PHP — Europe Remote

Build ThriveCart’s TypeScript commerce platform while helping transition its legacy PHP system. Own delivery from requirements through production, including testing, incident response, and AI-assisted development.

Apraksts

  • Develop the new TypeScript system replacing the existing PHP platform
  • Support and maintain the legacy PHP system throughout the transition
  • Own features end to end, from requirements breakdown and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and support
  • Turn feature requests into tasks, estimate effort, and deliver work independently
  • Produce clean, tested, production-ready code
  • Make technical decisions and communicate their trade-offs
  • Monitor production functionality through logs, metrics, and alerts
  • Refactor systems, improve documentation, and reduce technical debt
  • Investigate development escalations and take part in incident response
  • Create runbooks and keep technical documentation current
  • Join the shared on-call rotation
  • Develop unit and integration tests
  • Contribute actively to code reviews
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, and engineering teams
  • Take part in sprint planning and technical discussions
  • Mentor L1/L2 engineers at L3+
  • Lead domain incident response and establish AI tool standards at L4

Prasības

  • Current, hands-on experience with TypeScript
  • Professional experience developing with PHP
  • Required hands-on experience integrating Stripe and PayPal
  • Experience building applications with TypeScript and Node.js
  • Experience with PHP 7.4/8+ and Laravel
  • Experience working with MariaDB and Redis
  • Experience using AWS services such as EC2, RDS, CloudWatch, SQS, and S3
  • Practical experience with Docker
  • Experience implementing GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines
  • Ability to use AI coding tools daily for generation, debugging, testing, codebase exploration, and faster code reviews
  • Ability to assess the quality and correctness of AI-generated code
  • Ability to create unit and integration tests
  • Ability to contribute effectively to code reviews
  • Ability to handle incidents and development escalations
  • Ability to join the on-call rotation after ramp-up

  • Shared on-call rotation of approximately one week per month after ramp-up
  • Target response time of 15 minutes for critical incidents
  • Target response time of one hour for high-severity incidents
