Review life insurance applications for American Income Life, assessing medical and non-medical risk information and arranging further underwriting requirements.

- Screen life insurance applications for unanswered questions, hazardous occupations, medical history, and other factors needing additional underwriting review.
- Assess medical and non-medical records, including MIB and motor vehicle reports, prescription histories, verification calls, oral tests, and prior coverage applications.
- Apply company guidelines to decide when additional underwriting requirements are needed.
- Request appropriate medical or non-medical information, or an underwriter’s evaluation.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Typing speed of at least 30 words per minute.
- At least six months of Underwriting Department experience, or four years in a non-entry-level role (LG4 or higher).
- Ability to operate standard office equipment and use department-required software.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong communication skills, with correct grammar, word choice, and punctuation.
- Score of at least 98% in the Dean Vaughn Medical Terminology course.
