Clinical Research Coordinator II, Infectious Diseases — Emory University
Coordinate infectious disease clinical trials at Emory University School of Medicine, overseeing participant activities, specimens, study records, and regulatory submissions. Support trial operations through database management, protocol compliance, sponsor meetings, and guidance for junior staff.

- Oversee administrative work for clinical trials.
- Maintain research project databases.
- Prepare study flow sheets and related documents.
- Complete source records and case report forms.
- Guide less experienced staff.
- Assess participant eligibility and obtain protocol-based informed consent.
- Approve supply orders and equipment maintenance requests.
- Support recruitment planning and conduct participant screening, interviews, and questionnaires.
- Oversee collection and processing of study specimens.
- Prepare case packages for study procedures.
- Track procedure schedules and related charges.
- Arrange additional services as needed.
- Maintain compliance with research protocols.
- Review case report forms and verify their accuracy against source records.
- Participate in sponsor monitoring meetings.
- Prepare regulatory submissions.
- Perform phlebotomy or diagnostic procedures when appropriately credentialed and trained.
- Carry out other related, approved responsibilities as required.

- High school diploma or GED and five years of clinical research experience; or
- Two years of college in a scientific, health-related, or business administration program and three years of clinical research experience; or
- Licensed practical nurse (LPN) qualification and two years of clinical research experience; or
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, health-related, or business administration program and one year of clinical research experience; or
- Master’s degree, MD, or PhD in a scientific, health-related, or business administration program.
- Clinical training requirements must be tracked and monitored through Emory Healthcare under the Clinical Researcher credentialing category.
- The position includes patient contact and work with human blood, body fluids, tissues, or other potentially infectious materials.
