Yard and Dock Coordinator, 1st Shift – Pryor, OK

Coordinate safe trailer movement, dock scheduling, inspections, and yard flow for GXO Logistics in Pryor, Oklahoma. This onsite role works with operations, transportation, yard services, and customer-facing teams to maintain efficient and compliant dock activity.

Description

  • Coordinate all dock-related activities as the primary operational contact
  • Direct the safe, efficient, and timely movement of trailers into and out of the facility
  • Promote safe operations and support the proper use of hand tools and dock equipment
  • Arrange trailer movements for loading and unloading operations
  • Sequence trailer docking, release, and yard traffic activities
  • Use knowledge of trailer construction and fleet safety requirements
  • Inspect dock conditions and stop work when unsafe conditions are present
  • Apply established escalation procedures when issues arise
  • Collaborate with site operations, transportation, yard services, and customer-facing teams
  • Balance multiple priorities and changing operational demands
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure dock work complies with processes, safety requirements, and site SWIs
  • Maintain dock and yard organization in line with 7S workplace standards
  • Perform visual checks to detect hazards, inefficiencies, and possible delays
  • Use Microsoft Office 365 and Google Suite to record activity, share updates, and document issues
  • Provide coverage and operational assistance to site leadership and Lead colleagues as needed

Requirements

  • Experience in a warehouse, distribution, dock, yard, or transportation environment
  • Ability to coordinate dock or yard operations in a fast-moving workplace
  • Working knowledge of trailer docking, release procedures, and trailer construction
  • Ability to work outdoors across varied terrain in all weather conditions
  • Track record of following established processes, safety requirements, and escalation procedures
  • Strong communication skills for regular customer-facing and cross-functional collaboration
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and/or Google Suite applications
  • Experience as a lead, coordinator, or informal team leader preferred
  • Familiarity with safety programs, yard management systems, or warehouse management systems preferred
  • Experience promoting or enforcing safe work practices and stop-work authority preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude or familiarity with basic hand tools and dock equipment preferred
  • Ability to spend extended periods outdoors in changing weather
  • Ability to stand, walk, and navigate uneven surfaces throughout the shift
  • Ability to remain alert in a busy, high-traffic dock and yard setting
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule based on business requirements
  • Ability to regularly lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods exceeding four hours
  • Ability to walk continuously for more than 10,000 steps, or 4–5 miles, per day
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist, push, and pull items of different shapes and sizes, including team lifts
  • Ability to work in hot and cold environments
  • Ability to operate powered and manual lifting equipment according to approved procedures and safety requirements
