Working Student Accounting and Tax Product Development at Shine

Support Shine’s product team by testing accounting and tax features, validating bookkeeping logic, and researching subject-matter questions. This remote working-student role is based in Germany and applies accounting expertise to cloud financial software.

Description

  • Collaborate with the product team to validate the subject-matter accuracy of new accounting and tax software features.
  • Test features, posting logic, and reports for tax and accounting accuracy, and flag technical or specialist errors early.
  • Assess exports, reports, and other accounting workflows for completeness and professional plausibility.
  • Research accounting and tax topics, then document findings for the product team.
  • Assist with operational work and apply your accounting and tax knowledge to ongoing product development.

Requirements

  • You are pursuing a degree in business, taxation, business administration, business law, or a comparable field.
  • You have practical accounting experience, ideally from tax-clerk training or comparable commercial accounting work.
  • You have experience using DATEV and can work confidently with the software.
  • You possess solid accounting knowledge and a basic understanding of tax matters and their connections.
  • You work independently, systematically, and with strong attention to detail.
  • You are comfortable with technology and interested in applying your professional expertise to products and software.
  • You have very good German skills at C1 level or above.
  • You have English proficiency at B1+ level.
  • You can work 10 to 15 hours per week, with the precise schedule based on your availability.
