WordPress Developer - Long Beach (Hybrid)

JLOOP is seeking a WordPress Developer to build, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise websites for creative-agency clients. The role covers content implementation, front-end updates, SEO, forms, integrations, and technical issue resolution.

Description

  • Create WordPress pages and websites from defined requirements and approved UX/UI designs.
  • Optimize images and graphics for web publication.
  • Maintain WordPress content, including copy, modules, documents, and media.
  • Build and maintain sites using Elementor, WPBakery, Gutenberg, custom themes, and inherited structures.
  • Adapt approved designs and existing components while maintaining layouts, branding, and user journeys.
  • Check content, links, document permissions, layouts, and responsive rendering on desktop, tablet, and mobile.
  • Use inherited CSS and browser developer tools to investigate and resolve front-end problems.
  • Apply basic JavaScript and jQuery knowledge to understand existing functionality and integrate supplied scripts.
  • Reproduce and resolve WordPress problems involving plugins, themes, custom code, and configuration.
  • Configure and support Gravity Forms and Advanced Custom Fields.
  • Support WordPress migrations and work with MySQL databases.
  • Set up and troubleshoot forms and provided Salesforce integrations.
  • Apply supplied Google meta tags, tracking scripts, and Yoast SEO guidance.
  • Partner with Producers, project managers, designers, and developers while recording changes, findings, validation results, blockers, and risks.
  • Escalate complex PHP and custom-development issues with thorough reproduction details.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated WordPress experience spanning content updates, page builders, and troubleshooting, with the ability to describe contributions to sample sites.
  • A systematic approach to diagnosing plugin, theme, and custom-code problems and explaining the reasoning in a live WordPress environment.
  • Intermediate CSS, basic HTML, and foundational JavaScript and jQuery skills, including browser developer tools.
  • Strong Elementor experience and the ability to work with WPBakery, Gutenberg, and inherited custom themes; Divi experience is beneficial.
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting Gravity Forms and Advanced Custom Fields against defined requirements.
  • Understanding of responsive web behavior, WordPress migration elements, and MySQL database navigation.
  • Practical visual judgment and general SEO knowledge, including hands-on Yoast experience and implementation of approved designs and marketing direction.
  • Well organized and collaborative, with clear communication, the ability to manage varied client requests, and good judgment about when to seek technical support.
  • Preferred: PHP knowledge and debugging experience, theme customization, or custom WordPress development, with code samples when available.
  • Preferred: Experience maintaining WordPress core, plugins, and themes; resolving failed updates; and working with Plesk, hosting environments, or the WordPress API.
