WMS Engineer – Blue Yonder Dispatcher (Hybrid, Portugal)
Improve Blue Yonder warehouse management systems for a global transport and logistics organization. Lead monitoring, integrations, automation, testing, and reliable regional deployments.
Description
- Build and enhance monitoring, alerting, and self-healing capabilities for warehouse management systems.
- Protect production application stability, performance, and reliability by identifying and resolving incident root causes.
- Work with IT and business teams to deliver requirements through standard warehouse solutions.
- Assess solution gaps and determine where enhancements are required.
- Review IT solutions for compliance with coding standards and architectural guidelines.
- Introduce automated testing, deployment, and validation processes.
- Continuously improve standard warehouse solutions to support faster, more predictable regional rollouts.
- Help define and maintain regional and global WMS standards.
- Maintain and extend WMS and related applications with an emphasis on standardization, reuse, and documentation.
Requirements
- At least six years of professional experience in IT roles related to transportation, logistics, or supply chain.
- Hands-on experience with a warehouse management solution, specifically Blue Yonder Dispatcher WMS.
- Solid experience with relational databases, SQL, and PL/SQL.
- Understanding of infrastructure environments and strong Unix/Linux command-line skills.
- Advanced Shell scripting expertise.
- Ability to interpret, define, and critically assess business functional specifications.
- Practical application and API design expertise, supported by programming experience in C#, Java, or Python.
- Demonstrated experience integrating WMS platforms with external applications through APIs or web services.
- Careful approach to system design and testing, with the ability to work independently.
- Experience in supply chain environments and project implementation.
- B2 English proficiency or higher.
- Jenkins/Groovy pipeline scripting and maintenance experience is preferred.
- Experience with cloud-native platform tools and microservices is preferred.
- General familiarity with working alongside third-party software providers is preferred.
- Knowledge of the systems life cycle, including functional and technical solution design and architecture, is preferred.
