Walmart Litigation Counsel
Lead complex commercial litigation for Walmart, shaping case strategy and overseeing outside counsel. Advise business partners on disputes and risk with practical, business-focused guidance.
Description
- Advise on litigation, disputes, and pre-litigation issues with strategic legal guidance.
- Build and carry out litigation plans with business partners and outside counsel.
- Manage pleadings, discovery, motions, expert work, trial preparation, settlement talks, and appeals.
- Work with internal teams and counsel to gather facts, set case strategy, oversee budgets, and resolve matters efficiently.
- Research legal issues and analyze applicable law.
- Prepare and review legal documents.
- Advise business initiatives with practical, commercially minded counsel.
- Improve litigation processes, outside counsel strategy, and operational effectiveness.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor or equivalent law degree from an accredited law school
- Authorization to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- At least four years of legal experience
- Three to five years of litigation experience
- Experience handling complex litigation, including case strategy, discovery, motion practice, and outside counsel oversight
- Experience with depositions and trials
- Knowledge of state and federal civil procedure rules
- Ability to work with business partners and cross-functional teams to evaluate risk and resolve disputes
- Strong analytical, advocacy, and communication abilities
- Ability to give practical, business-focused legal advice
