Vodafone Lead Azure DevOps and Infrastructure as Code Engineer – Pune Onsite
Lead enterprise Azure automation at Vodafone by setting Terraform, landing zone, security and CI/CD standards. Shape secure Infrastructure as Code practices for globally distributed cloud teams.
Description
- Own Terraform standards, reusable Infrastructure as Code modules, reference architectures and Azure landing zones
- Act as the design authority for automation across Vodafone’s Azure platforms
- Create platform roadmaps that support Vodafone’s cloud, security and governance strategies
- Build and run Infrastructure as Code pipelines with Azure DevOps and GitHub
- Set standards for secure, consistent CI/CD-based infrastructure delivery
- Embed security, policy and compliance checks into deployment pipelines
- Apply Policy as Code, role-based access controls, tagging, encryption and network safeguards
- Deploy security gates, governance measures and policy enforcement across CI/CD workflows
- Keep cloud platforms aligned with Vodafone security baselines and relevant regulatory requirements
- Partner with Architecture, Cyber Security, FinOps and Delivery teams
- Act as a senior technical contact for architecture, security and infrastructure delivery
- Mentor platform engineers and senior Infrastructure as Code specialists
- Increase adoption of approved Terraform modules and Azure landing zones
- Minimise manual provisioning while improving pipeline reliability and deployment success
- Maintain technical documentation and encourage consistent quality practices across global teams
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Eight to ten years of relevant experience, including at least six years in cloud or Infrastructure as Code leadership
- Advanced hands-on expertise with Terraform and Microsoft Azure
- Working knowledge of Azure infrastructure services, networking, identity, governance, policy and security
- Strong experience using Azure DevOps, GitHub and enterprise CI/CD platforms
- Knowledge of Policy as Code, cloud security controls and automation frameworks
- Experience managing APIs through Infrastructure as Code
- Ability to use the Azure Python SDK to build cloud automation solutions
- Strong communication skills for senior stakeholder engagement and collaboration across global virtual teams
- Sound judgement, decision-making accountability and the ability to work with limited supervision
- Strategic thinking, attention to quality and commitment to clear documentation
- Ability to coach technical colleagues and support capability development
- Azure and DevOps certifications such as AZ-400, AZ-305 or Terraform certification are desirable
