Unreal Engine Visualization Specialist - Michigan Remote

Create photorealistic vehicle renderings, animations, and digital-twin assets for Ford Motor Company. Convert CAD and design intent into polished 3D content for automotive experiences.

Description

  • Develop highly photorealistic vehicle renderings and animations that bring automotive concepts and digital twins to life
  • Produce and maintain Virtual Garage content spanning prototypes, high-fidelity narratives, and technical in-vehicle assets
  • Improve team-wide visual quality through consistent lighting, material, and camera workflows
  • Convert complex engineering CAD and design direction into accurate 3D assets while retaining original design and CMF details
  • Coordinate multiple rendering and animation assignments across changing program schedules and deadlines
  • Build compelling animations that combine exterior, interior, and digital-experience content through visual narrative
  • Partner with technical artists, modelers, and engineers to uphold visual standards from studio concept through digital production
  • Contribute to the Core UX center of excellence within Digital Product Design and report to the 3D Design Manager

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of applicable education and experience
  • At least four years of experience in 3D visualization, CGI, or a comparable field
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating highly photorealistic automotive renderings and animations
  • Advanced proficiency with professional 3D rendering and visualization tools, including Unreal Engine, VRED, and Maya
  • Expert knowledge of physical lighting, shading, material development, color theory, and 3D camera composition
  • Ability to handle complex scenes and optimize large, demanding data sets
  • Ability to organize and maintain clean, structured source files for collaborative production
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain visual decisions and work effectively across technical and design teams
  • Visa sponsorship is unavailable for this position
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Preferred: a strong cinematic sensibility for lighting, composition, and camera direction in 3D environments
  • Preferred: broad 3D generalist capabilities covering lighting, shading, vehicle rigging, and animation
  • Preferred: experience with automotive design studios, premium CGI agencies, or dedicated digital-twin teams
  • Preferred: practical experience with real-time pipelines in high-volume, fast-moving production settings
  • Preferred: experience preparing and optimizing Class-A surfacing and engineering data for photorealistic output
  • Preferred: use of AI tools to increase pipeline efficiency and expand high-quality production capacity
