Thermal Analysis Engineer II – Security Clearance Required | Sierra Space
Perform thermal and vehicle-level analysis for Sierra Space aerospace and defense systems. Support thermal-system design, technical documentation, integration, and engineering reviews.
Description
- Perform detailed thermal analyses for aerospace applications
- Support the development of thermal systems
- Apply aerospace principles, standards, theories, first-order analysis, and engineering concepts
- Conduct vehicle-level analyses and contribute to system design
- Integrate thermal systems across broader aerospace projects
- Prepare and maintain technical data, reports, and presentations
- Resolve technical problems under general supervision
- Work with cross-functional teams to integrate thermal-analysis solutions
- Take part in technical reviews, project meetings, and brainstorming sessions
- Explain technical concepts clearly to team members, senior engineers, and stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience in place of a degree
- Typically at least two years of related experience
- Solid knowledge of thermal analysis
- Basic knowledge of vehicle-level analysis and system design
- Basic ability to apply aerospace principles, standards, theories, first-order analysis, and related concepts
- Active Secret U.S. security clearance
- Experience with engineering tools such as Thermal Desktop, SINDA/FLUINT, ANSYS, or COMSOL for thermal analysis and simulation preferred
- Experience using Python or MATLAB to automate thermal-analysis tasks and post-process results preferred
- Strong organizational skills preferred
- Willingness to learn and apply new thermal-analysis concepts and methods preferred
- Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development in aerospace engineering preferred
- Effective teamwork and collaboration skills preferred
- Strong communication skills preferred
- Basic problem-solving ability preferred
