Systems Engineer (Remote - Virginia)

Kreative Technologies seeks a Systems Engineer to design and maintain secure server and application environments remotely from Virginia. The role focuses on deployment automation, uptime monitoring, infrastructure support, and disaster recovery.

Description

  • Design, install, and configure servers, operating systems, and system software
  • Maintain development, testing, and production environments
  • Deploy patches and updates while applying security hardening controls
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot infrastructure problems
  • Automate operational tasks and deployments with scripts and configuration-management tools
  • Contribute to backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning
  • Keep system documentation and infrastructure diagrams current
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, information technology, computer science, or a related field
  • At least five years of systems engineering or systems administration experience
  • Experience administering Linux and Windows Server environments
  • Experience with virtualization or cloud platforms, including VMware, AWS, or Azure
  • Scripting experience with shell, PowerShell, or Python
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers, phones, scanners, and printers
  • Preferred: CompTIA Security+, RHCE, AWS, or Azure certification
  • Preferred: Experience with Ansible, Terraform, or similar configuration-management tools
  • Preferred: Experience supporting federal government contracts
