Storage Architect - Kyndryl, Hoofddorp Hybrid
Design secure, resilient private-cloud storage solutions for Kyndryl’s Dutch Defence IT program. Integrate storage with cloud, virtualization, security, backup, and disaster recovery.
Description
- Design, develop, and deliver storage solutions in a complex private-cloud environment.
- Define storage architectures using Secure by Design principles.
- Translate operational needs and program requirements into technical designs.
- Design and implement storage solutions for private-cloud environments.
- Integrate storage with compute, virtualization, security, PKI, and IAM.
- Develop strategies for cyber resilience, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Create standards, reference architectures, and quality criteria.
- Guide domain architects, engineers, and implementation teams.
- Identify risks and advise on emerging technology developments.
- Participate in the Design Authority and help make high-impact architecture decisions.
- Oversee lifecycle management, continuity, availability, and scalability of storage services.
- Translate innovative technologies into practical solutions for Defence.
Requirements
- At least five years of experience as a Storage Architect in complex enterprise environments.
- Experience supporting large infrastructure or transformation programs.
- Knowledge of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF.
- Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English.
- Experience managing stakeholders at operational, tactical, and strategic levels.
- A combination of leadership, entrepreneurial initiative, and team orientation.
- Extensive experience with Network Attached Storage, block storage, object storage, backup and recovery, storage virtualization, cyber resilience, storage security, and lifecycle management.
- Knowledge of Nutanix and virtualization platforms.
- Knowledge of cloud storage services in AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of automation and Infrastructure as Code, such as Ansible.
- Knowledge of reference architectures and vendor blueprints from leading storage providers.
- A Dutch passport is required.
- Willingness to successfully complete a VGB-B security screening.
- Availability to work at a Defence location at least two days per week.
