Software Engineer II, Core Infrastructure (Hybrid, Redwood City)

Build full-stack experiences for sellers on Poshmark’s fashion marketplace, spanning listing, order, and inventory workflows. Develop scalable frontend interfaces and backend services that support reliable seller operations.

Description

  • Create and maintain full-stack capabilities for seller workflows such as listing, order, and inventory management.
  • Develop responsive, accessible, high-performance interfaces with modern frontend frameworks.
  • Build and support backend services and APIs for seller-facing functionality.
  • Work with peers and senior engineers to deliver scalable, maintainable systems across the stack.
  • Produce clean, documented, well-tested code aligned with engineering best practices.
  • Take part in code reviews and apply feedback to improve implementation quality.
  • Diagnose and resolve production issues across frontend and distributed backend systems.
  • Enhance development processes, tooling, and team workflows.
  • Build expertise in the seller pod’s codebase, tools, and technology stack.
  • Deliver production-ready full-stack features with support from senior engineers.
  • Own small- to medium-sized components and features through completion.
  • Partner with Product, QA, and Design to deliver features.
  • Independently take full-stack work from design through production.
  • Support client- and server-side performance and scalability improvements.
  • Build knowledge of system architecture and use data to guide technical decisions.
  • Contribute to technical discussions and initiatives that improve reliability, usability, and efficiency.
  • Provide mentorship to interns and new hires.

Requirements

  • Bring 2–4 years of professional full-stack software engineering experience, including internships.
  • Understand computer science fundamentals such as data structures, algorithms, and software design.
  • Use a modern frontend framework such as React, Vue, or Angular.
  • Demonstrate strong HTML, CSS, and JavaScript or TypeScript skills.
  • Work proficiently in at least one backend language, including Ruby, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Know RESTful APIs, SQL or NoSQL databases, and caching or message-queue systems.
  • Have experience creating responsive, user-facing web applications.
  • Show interest in cloud technologies such as AWS or GCP and scalable system design.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or have equivalent practical experience.
  • Be collaborative, curious, and motivated to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
  • Be able to work from the Redwood City office three days per week and be legally authorized to work in the United States.
