SNOC Engineer III (Remote, United States)

Lead advanced threat investigations and detection engineering for DYOPATH client environments. Strengthen security operations through monitoring, incident response, automation, and technical mentorship.

Description

  • Drive continuous improvement across SNOC operations by strengthening monitoring, response workflows, automation, and efficiency
  • Act as the senior escalation point for complex incidents, delivering advanced analysis and resolution support
  • Create and maintain runbooks, incident response procedures, investigation guides, and knowledge base content
  • Assess risks, vulnerabilities, and suspicious activity across network, system, endpoint, identity, and cloud environments
  • Refine detection logic, tune alerts, and contribute to SIEM analytics and automation workflows
  • Mentor junior SNOC engineers through investigations, troubleshooting, and incident response
  • Maintain accurate compliance documentation for audits and required reporting
  • Test incident response procedures, disaster recovery plans, and operational readiness exercises
  • Lead critical incident investigations and direct containment, eradication, and recovery activities
  • Conduct advanced threat analysis using SIEM, EDR, identity protection, and network telemetry platforms
  • Investigate complex alerts across endpoint, identity, email, cloud, and network systems
  • Build detections, threat-hunting queries, alert-enrichment logic, and automated response playbooks
  • Work with engineering, infrastructure, and client teams on remediation and sustained risk reduction
  • Assist with onboarding and integrating telemetry from new platforms and technologies
  • Record investigations, incidents, and operational actions in ticketing and case management systems

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information technology, or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent experience may be considered
  • Preferred certifications include GIAC credentials such as GCIH, GCIA, or GCFA
  • CompTIA CySA+ or CASP+ certification is preferred
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate certification is preferred
  • AWS Certified Specialty certification is preferred
  • Cisco CCNP certification or an equivalent credential is preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of security operations, incident investigation, and threat detection practices
  • Experience with SIEM and monitoring tools such as Microsoft Sentinel, Wazuh, SentinelOne, or comparable platforms
  • Strong grounding in networking, endpoint security, identity protection, and cloud environments including Azure or AWS
  • Experience with advanced log analysis, threat hunting, and alert triage across diverse telemetry sources
  • Ability to resolve complex issues and provide leadership during high-severity operational events
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and client discussions
  • Experience improving monitoring through detection engineering, alert tuning, and automation
  • Familiarity with security frameworks, compliance standards, and operational best practices
