Senior UI/UX Engineer at Baxter (Hybrid)

Design Figma-based interfaces and conduct usability research for Baxter’s healthcare software. Improve user experiences across regulated medical-device products through research, prototyping, and design systems.

Description

  • Apply UX design principles and methods to develop or enhance software products and processes
  • Lead significant UX assignments independently, using sound judgment throughout planning and execution
  • Design intuitive interfaces aligned with Baxter, W3C, Material Design, Apple, and Android guidelines
  • Conduct customer interviews and user research to understand needs and expectations
  • Develop UI prototypes for evaluation and marketing use
  • Plan usability studies, write test materials, moderate sessions, and prepare findings reports
  • Maintain documentation for user experience designs and specifications
  • Contribute UX and design expertise to cross-functional teams
  • Identify product and process improvements informed by UX practice
  • Manage assigned work independently with limited supervision
  • Use engineering methods and project tools to coordinate work across teams and disciplines
  • Build and implement a Figma-based design language system

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Factors or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • At least three years of relevant professional experience
  • Willingness and ability to travel to Baxter or customer locations
  • Ability to satisfy hospital credentialing requirements
  • Strong foundation in UX design principles
  • Experience with UI design and prototyping software
  • Advanced Figma proficiency, including components, variables, auto layout, and themes
  • Commitment to improving user experiences and advocating for users and UX standards
  • Ability to communicate and document interface designs and rationale clearly in writing and speech
  • Experience in medical devices or another regulated industry is preferred
  • Authorization to work for any U.S. employer is required
