Senior Teradata Architect – Remote Czechia

Description
- Lead data architecture for enterprise data warehouse delivery
- Assess source data, data flows, business needs, and downstream consumption requirements
- Investigate Teradata SQL, conduct technical analysis, and validate proposed solutions
- Align stakeholders, engineers, testers, delivery leads, and architects on solutions and issue resolution
- Evaluate design alternatives and recommend scalable, practical, standards-aligned approaches
- Create and maintain HLDs, ADDs, solution options, design rationale, assumptions, risks, and governance materials
- Present architecture recommendations to Architecture Boards and governance forums for approval
- Build governance, metadata, lineage, controls, reconciliation, auditability, privacy, and regulatory compliance into designs
- Contribute to metadata-driven delivery frameworks
- Assist delivery teams through development, testing, implementation, and issue resolution
- Spend approximately half the role on hands-on SQL investigation, data analysis, solution validation, and delivery support
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience in data engineering and architecture
- At least 5 years of data architecture experience, including demonstrable ownership as a Data Architect or senior Data Engineering Lead
- Deep hands-on Teradata experience in an on-premises enterprise data warehouse
- Proficiency in SQL querying, data investigation, issue analysis, and technical validation
- Practical experience with the Teradata Financial Services Data Model or an equivalent financial services model
- Strong knowledge of enterprise data warehouse design, data marts, integration patterns, and large-scale data platform delivery
- Experience in banking, financial services, or regulatory data environments
- Knowledge of regulatory data needs, including BCBS 239, RDARR, regulatory reporting, traceability, auditability, and evidence-based controls
- Strong data analysis and data modelling capabilities
- Experience producing governance-ready HLDs and ADDs and presenting them to Architecture Boards
- Strong stakeholder management, independent ownership, constructive challenge, and decision-making skills
- Mandatory: on-premises Teradata EDW, advanced SQL, Teradata FSDM or an equivalent financial services model, Inmon-style integrated EDW architecture, ETL delivery processes and tools, metadata-driven ingestion, transformation, control and reconciliation frameworks, and Control-M or a comparable scheduling and orchestration tool
- Desirable: Teradata Global Control Framework (GCFR) or a comparable control framework
- Desirable: Cloudera or a comparable big data platform
- Desirable: modern hybrid warehouse and lake architecture patterns
- Desirable: experience with data observability, operational resilience, and production support
- Desirable: broader hands-on data engineering experience
