Description

  • Create, enhance, troubleshoot, and debug software for existing and new products
  • Build software spanning operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases, and internet technologies
  • Assess hardware compatibility and help shape hardware design decisions
  • Lead internal and outsourced engineering teams across solution design, analysis, coding, testing, and integration
  • Build and strengthen partnerships with internal and external development teams
  • Assess designs and project work against systems development standards and guidelines
  • Recommend improvements that raise product quality and reduce failure risk
  • Provide specialized domain expertise and software leadership across organizational projects and programs
  • Introduce and integrate emerging technologies into engineering initiatives
  • Mentor and provide direction to less-experienced engineers

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a comparable field
  • At least eight years of software development experience
  • Strong systems programming experience with C/C++ in enterprise-grade software
  • Proficiency in data structures, algorithms, and multithreaded programming
  • Experience diagnosing issues in multithreaded and clustered environments
  • Deep understanding of operating system internals
  • Experience with high-performance storage data paths, distributed file systems, storage platforms, high-availability clusters, memory management, performance tuning, or modeling is highly desirable
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Experience defining software architecture for products and solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Mastery of English and the local language
  • Ability to present product architectures and design proposals and negotiate options with senior management
