Senior Software Developer, Ashburn Hybrid

Description

  • Translate system needs into clear technical requirements and specifications.
  • Build, test, and deploy new applications and improvements to existing software.
  • Develop components, modules, and services to meet product requirements and delivery schedules.
  • Contribute to architecture discussions and plan systems and subsystems.
  • Investigate complex technical problems and resolve them within operational constraints.
  • Maintain documentation for software, workflows, and procedures.
  • Assess change requests for risks and recommend ways to address them.
  • Work with technical teams, analysts, and project managers to clarify needs and deliver projects successfully.
  • Improve CI/CD workflows, build automation, and version control.
  • Set and refine coding practices, security measures, and compliance standards.
  • Coach junior and mid-level developers through troubleshooting, code reviews, knowledge sharing, and paired programming.
  • Contribute throughout the rapid development cycle, from planning and design to testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
  • Provide technical leadership and deliver reliable solutions on schedule.

Requirements

  • Be a US citizen and able to obtain a federal background investigation (CBP BI).
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Be able to work in a hybrid arrangement at the client site in Ashburn, Virginia.
  • Have at least seven years of experience in software development or a related IT field.
  • Demonstrate experience with Java and JavaScript.
  • Have Python experience.
  • Have experience with Angular and Node.js or Spring Boot.
  • Have experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Have experience with REST/SOAP APIs, JSON, and microservices.
  • Have experience with GitLab runners and Harness.
  • Have Docker experience.
  • Have experience with CI/CD pipelines, build automation, and version control tools.
  • Show strong technical analysis skills and the ability to solve problems within system and performance constraints.
  • Government or federal IT experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methods is preferred.
  • Experience as a technical lead is preferred.
  • Knowledge of security and compliance standards in government settings is preferred.
  • Relevant professional certifications are preferred.
  • Experience designing and implementing automated unit, integration, and functional tests is preferred.
  • Experience with mobile development and testing platforms is preferred.
  • Secret clearance or higher and Level 4 Public Trust.
