Description
- Develop the next generation of SimplePractice’s practice-management platform
- Partner with Product to understand customer needs, investigate potential issues, and shape upcoming features
- Produce clean, efficient, thoroughly tested code that strengthens the codebase
- Help identify technical problems and design effective solutions
- Own new features end to end, from architecture and implementation through testing
- Contribute to front-end development while focusing primarily on backend engineering
Requirements
- At least four years of engineering experience, including hands-on Ruby on Rails work during part of your career
- Professional English proficiency with strong communication and collaboration abilities
- A degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
- Strong experience with a modern JavaScript framework, specifically Ember.js or React.js, and its surrounding ecosystem
- Experience designing and delivering large-scale, scalable web applications
- Experience taking Rails applications from initial concept through production
- Working knowledge of Test-Driven Development
- Comfort collaborating with distributed teams through GitHub, Slack, Notion, and Zoom
- Bonus: Knowledge of web application security principles and best practices
- Bonus: Familiarity with Docker, MySQL, Postgres, Redis, NGINX, and AWS services
- Bonus: Confidence troubleshooting issues in production environments
