Senior Onsite Engineering Manager at nVent

Description

  • Direct the site’s mechanical and electrical engineering teams to meet or exceed the Annual Operating Plan
  • Coordinate engineering resources and initiatives with site functions to address customer and business needs
  • Collaborate across functions throughout the Engineered To Order process
  • Balance technical rigor, execution speed, schedules, and flexibility to deliver business results
  • Provide technical and strategic direction supporting long-term product architecture and business objectives
  • Lead, coach, and develop leaders across building framework and power systems functions
  • Deliver quality, schedule, and efficiency targets across the Engineering organization
  • Create and maintain training and onboarding programs for new employees
  • Coordinate work involving offshore and contract engineering resources
  • Advance continuous improvement and consistently high-quality outcomes
  • Establish and apply standardized design practices
  • Provide communication, direction, coaching, and development support that strengthens team capability and accountability

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related discipline, such as mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, or architectural engineering, or comparable experience
  • At least 10 years of demonstrated professional experience
  • At least 8 years leading technical teams
  • Experience with Engineered To Order engineering operations, process improvement, or technical program leadership
  • Strong understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes for control buildings
  • Knowledge of engineering documentation practices
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
  • Strong interpersonal and planning abilities
  • An agile approach to work
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to analyze complex data and convert findings into actionable recommendations
  • Sheet metal experience is preferred
