Senior Manager, Industrial Hygiene (Onsite, Germany)

Lead global industrial hygiene standards, exposure controls, and risk programs across Boehringer Ingelheim’s pharmaceutical sites. Drive compliance, training, occupational health protection, and continuous improvement across international teams.

Description

  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of global industrial hygiene standards, systems, and governance across Boehringer Ingelheim sites worldwide.
  • Provide expert guidance on occupational exposure assessments and control strategies for chemical and API-related hazards, including internal occupational exposure limits.
  • Conduct and oversee industrial hygiene assessments, exposure monitoring, and workplace risk evaluations.
  • Partner with sites and specialist functions to implement risk-reduction measures and corrective and preventive actions.
  • Create and deliver training, webinars, tools, and knowledge-sharing programs.
  • Develop and track performance indicators supporting continuous improvement, regulatory compliance, and employee health protection.
  • Work with international experts in EHS, Occupational Medicine, Toxicology, Engineering, and Operations.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Hygiene, or a related scientific or technical field.
  • Significant experience with industrial hygiene, occupational exposure assessment, exposure monitoring, and workplace risk evaluation.
  • Advanced knowledge of chemical exposure control, engineering controls, containment strategies, and health risk management.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, chemical, or API manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical data and turn findings into practical business recommendations and risk-reduction measures.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills in global, multicultural organizations.
  • Ability to lead global programs, build networks, and advance compliance, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 20%.
