Senior iOS Software Engineer at Ford Motor Company (Remote, US)

Build and deliver Swift-based iOS applications that support millions of Ford drivers and connected vehicles. Own mobile software from initial concept through production release.

Description

  • Develop iOS applications from initial concept through production for millions of drivers and vehicles worldwide
  • Review product designs and software architectures, offering engineering-focused feedback
  • Assess emerging technologies and recommend suitable products or tools
  • Create and maintain high-quality documentation for software engineering teams
  • Collaborate effectively with product managers, designers, and technical specialists
  • Maintain ongoing communication with product owners, engineers, and designers
  • Deliver usable product increments early and frequently

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent education and professional experience
  • At least five years of hands-on experience developing native iOS applications
  • At least five years of experience with Swift and the iOS development ecosystem
  • At least three years of experience with mobile frontend architecture, including modular design, state management, and navigation strategies
  • A strong commitment to software testing and experience working in agile environments
  • Experience building and releasing production-grade software or services
  • Substantial experience working in CI/CD environments
  • Experience with software operations, including DevOps, site reliability, observability, support, maintenance, local debugging, production tracing, performance testing, and load testing
  • Advanced Swift and iOS development capabilities
  • Extensive experience designing user interfaces with SwiftUI
  • Experience with continuous integration using Fastlane and with scripting
  • Understanding of common Apple-platform architectures such as MVVM and MVC
  • Working knowledge of, and ideally practical experience with, the Composable Architecture library (TCA)
  • Ruby scripting knowledge
