Senior GIS Data Analyst - United States Remote
Maintain ArcGIS geospatial data supporting Cable One’s fiber and HFC telecommunications networks. Help with network planning, construction, infrastructure inventories, and regulatory mapping updates.
Description
- Develop, analyze, and maintain digital GIS mapping data
- Support the planning, design, and construction of fiber and HFC networks
- Handle map requests related to BSL State Challenges and FCC mapping updates
- Provide technical support for GIS data maintenance and development
- Prepare and maintain data for internal business requests
- Map fiber optic and HFC networks using ArcGIS and ArcFM
- Help develop, design, and maintain GIS datasets, geodatabases, and ArcGIS applications
- Collect, attribute, edit, clean, organize, and map spatial data in Esri ArcGIS
- Update parcel data with ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro and perform REGRID data entry
- Deliver advanced technical support for GIS projects
- Research county, state, and federal records and interpret maps, aerial imagery, and construction as-builts
- Assist in defining GIS software specifications and standards for engineering, construction, maintenance, and network operations
- Manage geospatial data for fiber and HFC route assets and network schematics
- Track the capacity and status of existing fiber infrastructure
- Perform calculations and apply coordinate systems and geodetic projections
- Support GIS mapping requests from Legal, Market Expansion, and design teams
- Maintain fiber infrastructure inventories according to GIS best practices
- Complete other assigned responsibilities as needed
Requirements
- Demonstrated cartographic proficiency with Esri ArcGIS Pro for digital and printed mapping products
- At least five years of experience with Esri platforms, including ArcGIS and ArcFM
- Bachelor’s degree focused on GIS
- Experience creating or updating overlay maps that depict boundaries, utility locations, or topographic features across base maps, scales, and coordinate systems
- Ability to manage competing and shifting priorities effectively under pressure
- Strong customer service orientation, urgency, attention to detail, and diplomatic communication across organizational levels
- Strong interpersonal communication and negotiation abilities
- Effective problem-solving skills
- Working experience with ArcGIS and Esri tools
- Knowledge of outside plant design and construction methods
- Python and SQL programming experience is a plus
- Experience with MyWorld, ArcFM, and AutoCAD is a plus
- Employment is conditional on successfully completing background, drug screening, and reference checks
