Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer – Australia Remote

Join Marigold as a senior engineer working on Campaign Monitor marketing technology across microservices, web applications, event streaming, and AWS infrastructure. Influence architecture and code quality within autonomous product teams.

Description

  • Contribute to an autonomous, multidisciplinary product team
  • Partner with UX designers, Product Managers, and fellow software engineers
  • Build reliable customer experiences and systems that support ongoing growth
  • Maintain production software and participate in an on-call rotation
  • Create event-driven microservices and APIs within a distributed architecture
  • Develop dynamic web applications with ReactJS, Node.js, and Backbone.js
  • Build AWS infrastructure across EC2, ECS, SNS/SQS, RDS, ElastiCache, and Elasticsearch
  • Develop event-streaming and big-data solutions with Kafka and Spark
  • Expand and improve the existing product feature set
  • Contribute to architectural decisions
  • Improve code quality through reviews and mentorship
  • Own technical problems from scoping through tradeoffs and long-term maintainability

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of professional software development experience
  • A BA or BS in Computer Science or a related discipline, or 3+ additional years of relevant industry experience instead of a degree
  • Fluency in two or more programming languages, ideally including C#, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Comfort with AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot, Claude Code, or Cursor
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, and RDS, including how to choose among them
  • Familiarity with instrumentation practices and data-informed decision-making
  • Strong written and interactive communication skills
  • A collaborative approach to teamwork
  • Experience designing event-streaming systems and processing streams with Kafka and Spark
  • Strong Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform
  • Ability to learn additional provisioning and configuration tools as required
