Senior Frontend Engineer at BotCity — US Remote
Lead the evolution of BotCity’s React and Next.js products for enterprise automation governance. Shape scalable front-end experiences, engineering standards, and team practices in a global remote environment.
Description
- Lead the development and evolution of BotCity’s product front ends
- Build, deploy, and maintain scalable, responsive web applications with modern front-end technologies
- Prioritize desktop experiences while contributing to mobile development as the product evolves
- Partner with product managers and UX/UI designers to turn requirements into practical, user-friendly solutions
- Improve the front-end codebase through legacy-code refactoring and engineering best practices
- Protect performance across a range of devices and browsers
- Contribute to code reviews and reinforce strong front-end engineering practices
- Diagnose and resolve front-end issues to maintain a smooth user experience
- Create reusable code and libraries for continued product development
- Tune components for maximum speed and efficiency
- Define front-end standards and playbooks that support team growth
- Elevate team capability through reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing
- Report to the Engineering Manager
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
- At least five years of professional software engineering experience
- At least three years delivering complex front-end projects with Product and UX/UI teams
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including clean code, design patterns, component architecture, and state management
- Hands-on experience with automated testing tools such as Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright, or Cypress
- Experience improving front-end performance
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript
- Advanced knowledge of React and Next.js
- Experience using Git and GitHub
- Experience with Microsoft Office or Excel, Google Suite, and Notion
- Fluent Portuguese
- Advanced English proficiency
- Ability to own initiatives through completion, remain accountable, and take calculated customer-focused risks
- Ability to begin with customer needs, execute thoughtfully, and retain a broad product perspective
- Ability to communicate proactively, clearly, and concisely while respectfully challenging decisions
- Ability to seek, provide, and apply feedback actively
- Previous experience in an early-stage, high-growth, fast-paced startup
- Willingness to travel as needed for events and team meetings
