Description

  • Monitor security activity and conduct detailed analysis of alerts
  • Apply incident handling procedures across Windows, macOS, and Linux environments
  • Analyze malware using appropriate investigative techniques
  • Remediate malware and other malicious activity remotely
  • Build and refine processes for incident detection, triage, and countermeasure execution
  • Deliver clear written and verbal communications, recommendations, and findings to customer management
  • Represent industry expertise through blog posts, CrowdCasts, and other public speaking engagements
  • Lead internal programs or teams
  • Act as a technical escalation resource and mentor for junior analysts
  • Review junior analysts’ work and provide oversight and quality assurance
  • Help improve security processes and operating procedures

Requirements

  • Experience in one or more areas including incident handling, computer or network forensics, systems administration, malware analysis, incident remediation, network operations and architecture, or programming and scripting
  • Experience conducting or managing organizational incident response, including investigations of targeted threats such as advanced persistent threats, organized crime, and hacktivists
  • Experience using forensic analysis tools during incident response investigations to establish the extent and scope of a compromise
  • Understanding of system internals to implement and execute countermeasures and remediation
  • Knowledge of network protocols and network analysis tools, with the ability to interpret related network logs
  • Ability to conduct static and dynamic malware analysis
  • Thorough understanding of targeted attacks and the ability to develop tailored tactical and strategic remediation plans
  • Strong knowledge of secure network architecture and experience in network operations
  • Experience programming in PowerShell, C, C#, VB, Python, Perl, Ruby on Rails, and .NET
  • BA or BS, or MA or MS, in a listed or related field
  • At least one relevant security certification
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving ability
  • Extensive experience with macOS, Windows, and Unix operating systems
  • Ability to manage high-pressure situations productively and professionally
  • Strong time-management and multitasking skills
