- Discover story ideas through conversations with engineers, internal documentation, and the product and codebase
- Publish regular technical articles on Hercules’ engineering blog
- Collaborate with engineers to write and edit posts
- Transform rough notes, interviews, and technical drafts into polished articles
- Enhance articles with diagrams, code examples, and supporting data
Requirements
- Professional experience as a senior or staff-level content writer
- Demonstrated excellence in technical writing for engineering audiences
- A portfolio featuring high-quality engineering-focused writing is required
- Ability to read code and understand system architecture
- Comfort following technical discussions about infrastructure, databases, APIs, and AI systems
- Ability to test code examples and clearly communicate engineering tradeoffs
- Strong interviewing and source-gathering skills
- Rigorous research and analytical abilities
- Ability to read technical papers and interpret benchmarks and experimental findings
- Sound editorial judgment
- Ability to use AI to significantly increase writing speed and improve quality
- Willingness to work in US time zones for remote work
- Willingness to travel regularly to the San Francisco office for remote work
