Senior Electrical Engineer – Mackay (Hybrid)

Lead low-voltage electrical system design, power studies, and project delivery for Aurecon’s mining, energy, and water infrastructure work. Advise clients and mentor engineers while working from Mackay or Brisbane.

Description

  • Deliver projects and programs across mining, resources, oil and gas, and water
  • Develop trusted relationships with coal mining and port clients
  • Lead the design and delivery of low-voltage electrical systems for industrial and infrastructure projects
  • Complete power system modelling and studies, and provide technical guidance
  • Work with colleagues across disciplines and global teams
  • Mentor and support developing engineers
  • Help plan projects and achieve delivery and performance targets
  • Visit client sites when required
  • Advance continuous improvement and best-practice standards
  • Take on project management responsibilities when applicable

Requirements

  • A relevant Electrical Engineering qualification or related discipline
  • RPEQ registration or progress toward registration
  • Strong experience in low-voltage electrical engineering
  • Experience with power system modelling; SKM PTW is preferred
  • Medium- or high-voltage, instrumentation, and control experience is advantageous
  • Extensive electrical engineering project experience in mining, resources, or heavy industry, ideally coal mining or ports
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
  • A collaborative approach with a willingness to share knowledge and support colleagues
  • Project delivery or project management experience, or an interest in developing these capabilities
  • Willingness to travel to site when required
