Senior Ecommerce Engineer

Description
- Develop and release features for Skylight’s customer-facing e-commerce site with TypeScript, Hydrogen, React, and React Router v7.
- Take ownership of server-rendered pages, from routes, loaders, and actions to customer-facing components.
- Connect the site to commerce, content, and analytics APIs.
- Trace and resolve bugs throughout the request lifecycle.
- Boost site speed and reliability to support quick browsing and successful checkouts.
- Choose where architectural investment is warranted and favor simpler solutions when they fit.
- Coordinate launches, campaigns, and experiments with Marketing, Design, Product, and Operations.
- Produce clear, maintainable code backed by thorough tests.
- Support fellow engineers with code reviews and design discussions.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience building and running production React and TypeScript applications that use server-side rendering.
- Practical knowledge of React Router v7, including routes, loaders, actions, and server-rendered application patterns.
- Full-stack capability across browser and server, including API integration and debugging across the request lifecycle.
- Evidence of improving performance and reliability on a customer-facing website.
- Sound judgment about when architectural work is worthwhile and when a simpler implementation is preferable.
- Strong communication and collaboration with engineering and non-engineering colleagues.
- Experience with Shopify Plus, its Storefront API, or Hydrogen.
- Experience integrating content management systems.
- Familiarity with feature flags and A/B testing.
- Experience with e-commerce analytics.
