Senior Drives Engineer - Onsite

Senior Drives Engineer responsible for servicing low- and medium-voltage variable frequency drive systems at customer sites in Texas. The role covers commissioning, maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and repairs.

Description

  • Collaborate regularly with NETA technicians across a broad range of electrical equipment.
  • Lead start-up and commissioning, preventive maintenance, installation, and repair work for complex AC low- and medium-voltage variable frequency drive systems at customer locations.
  • Service drive systems from manufacturers such as Allen Bradley, ABB, Teco, Toshiba, TMEIC, and Siemens-Robicon.
  • Discuss troubleshooting findings and recommended solutions with customers, securing approval before carrying out the proposed work.
  • Execute complex drive-system work scopes as lead technician while meeting customer expectations.
  • Work overtime and complete periodic overnight travel assignments lasting up to several weeks.

Requirements

  • Completion of a two-year electrical technical degree program; a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training, is preferred.
  • Communicate clearly in spoken and written English with customers and coworkers.
  • Demonstrate strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Work safely in environments involving high-voltage electricity.
  • Provide excellent customer service and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.
  • Coordinate effectively among multiple customer, vendor, and manufacturer contacts to support job execution.
  • Bring a professional, self-directed, organized, motivated, and solution-oriented approach with a positive attitude and personal initiative.
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment drug test and periodic unannounced random drug testing.
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment criminal background check.
  • Be available for overtime and periodic out-of-town travel.
  • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, and drive regularly, with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Successfully complete a fit-for-duty physical examination.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
  • Be available for periodic domestic travel; international travel experience is a plus, and a U.S. passport is desired.
  • Read, speak, and write English.
