Senior DevOps Engineer (TS/SCI) – Hybrid

Lead Kubernetes, CI/CD, and big-data infrastructure for Xcelerate Solutions’ DoD OSINT platform. Guide Agile delivery and secure microservices deployments.

Description

  • Support the DOMEX Technology Platform program by standardizing OSINT tasking, collection, processing, exploitation, and dissemination across the DoD and intelligence community.
  • Lead a DevOps team that designs, deploys, and maintains a full-stack containerized microservices architecture.
  • Handle technical systems administration, installation, and configuration.
  • Deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain a production big-data pipeline built with Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, and Kafka.
  • Improve and maintain CI/CD tooling, DevOps scripts, and delivery processes.
  • Design, develop, and support scalable, redundant physical and virtualized infrastructure.
  • Configure Helm-based Kubernetes deployments for new features.
  • Partner with systems engineers and architects on solutions, documentation, diagrams, and models.
  • Manage and prioritize the Agile team backlog.
  • Decompose features, prioritize work, and clarify requirements.
  • Support SAFe Program Increment planning and execution.
  • Take part in sprint planning, standups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Track sprint and program progress while helping address dependencies, risks, and impediments.
  • Review completed work against business requirements and quality standards before acceptance.
  • Share priorities, progress, and product goals with stakeholders, developers, and leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, systems engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience supported by 12+ years in software development, systems engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience with a master’s degree.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a polygraph.
  • Current DoD 8570.01M IAT Level II or higher certification, such as Security+, CySA+, SSCP, CCNA Security, or CISSP or CISSP Associate.
  • Ability to obtain Privileged User Account certification.
  • Experience with containers and orchestration, particularly Kubernetes.
  • Experience troubleshooting Ingress or Gateway API, designing and building Helm charts, and configuring pod disruption and affinity or anti-affinity rules.
  • Familiarity with external-secrets, ArgoCD, cert-manager, and ECK for Elasticsearch.
  • Experience developing GitLab pipelines with GitLab CI/CD components, Code Quality reports, and code coverage or test reports.
  • Knowledge of Linux operating systems, including sysctl settings for Kubernetes environments.
  • Experience with FApolicyd and SELinux.
  • Working knowledge of Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana.
  • Experience serving as a Product Owner or in a comparable role on an Agile software development team.
  • Ability to translate complex problems into actionable steps.
  • Experience managing and prioritizing product backlogs.
  • Strong command of Agile methodologies.
  • Experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across engineering, design, and project management functions.
  • Ability to manage expectations and sustain stakeholder relationships.
  • Preferred experience with Bash, PowerShell, Salt, Python, Groovy, Java, production or enterprise systems, Kafka or other messaging platforms, Kubernetes monitoring, GPU-based Kubernetes, Salt deployment automation, or Nexus.
