Description
- Manage, optimize, and support production and non-production databases across Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB
- Process incidents, service requests, changes, and vulnerability remediation in ServiceNow according to ITIL practices
- Develop and enhance database monitoring and observability with Splunk, Zabbix, and OpenTelemetry metrics
- Automate database patching and provisioning using Ansible, GitHub, and NinjaOne
- Apply security controls with Imperva, Nessus, and CyberArk in line with ISO 27001, SOX, CIS, and GDPR requirements
- Contribute to database migration activities across the estate
- Combine operational support with improvement projects that strengthen the database environment
Requirements
- At least 3–5 years of hands-on database administration across two or more of Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB
- Strong SQL capabilities with practical experience in performance tuning, backup and recovery, and high availability
- Experience or exposure in heterogeneous database migrations; Oracle-to-PostgreSQL or SQL Server migration experience is particularly valuable
- Comfort working with virtualized environments such as VMware/vSphere, GCP/GCVE, and AWS, alongside Linux and Windows hosts
- Working knowledge of ServiceNow or Jira and ITIL incident, change, and problem management processes
- A practical approach to scripting and automation using Ansible, PowerShell, shell scripting, or Python
- Fluent English; additional European languages are welcome
- A proactive, curious, accountable approach with strong teamwork skills
- Cloud database experience with GCP Cloud SQL, AlloyDB, or AWS RDS is desirable
- Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or PostgreSQL certification is desirable
- Experience with observability tools such as Splunk and Zabbix is desirable
